The wider the worse the gas mileage. But you'll have more grip in corners and during acceleration.
I drive with 9,5rear and 8,5 front. My gas mileage went from 8-8,5l/100km to about 9-9,5 (sorry for the unit) it's not a terrible increase. But it's there non the less.
Normally 8,75 shouldn't give any fitment problems if I'm correct. Maybe you could also check the wheel directory on this forum for more info.
