The more powerful battery you mention might work by leaving some residual power to the head unit so the power isn't interrupted.


Not sure what circuit this is, but a small capacitor could prob correct this issue with ease.. again I don't have a push start car, so I am not intimately familiar, but it sounds like you're on the right track
