In regards to the track width, I can't answer that. It all comes down to how much the track width is increased. When you increase track width, you're going to increase negative camber. To counter that, you'll have to adjust the camber plates to balance it out. By doing that, you'll find what works best to get the desired results.

And I'm driving a '16 STI now. Have had it for almost a year now.

Hey dude, so it says track width can't be increased by more than 25mm, thus no offsetting beyond 12.5mm each side. This means I can't widen with LCA's either.

I was wondering if I should get 18x10's and get a +46 offset rims, so that the rear is flush like a 9.5" would be as you said, and I can increase track width to +36 on the front with LCA's. It still pokes 13.7mm less than yours, but with a 9.5" it pokes 20mm less. But it will be 26.4mm closer to the strut:
