I am coming up on my first service. This is my first brand new car and I am nearly at 4k. My dealer had the oil interval at 5k. I've been reading up on the forum and had some questions.I didn't get a free oil change from my dealer; They are 5 hours away anyways. I have access to a shop and a lift. I am more than capable of doing oil changes along with other tasks, so I will be happy to do it myself.

What should the first service consist of? Some people change the oil, diff fluid, MTF, and apply crush washers. I suppose it would be a good idea to get a magnetic drain plug as well. Is there anything else I should be aware of such as resetting the interval on the car display?
