Hey man, how's your car doing? You mentioned that going for a 255 over a 265 tyre won't affect the flush because the rim is still 9.5, are you sure it wouldn't make a difference at all? I was thinking of finding the exact inches/cm's width for the 265's vs 255's for the Dunlop's so I can make sure it's as flush as possible on paper.
Also, you said yours poke out a bit, but the front looks pretty perfect, did you mean the bottom pokes out because of the camber?
Lastly, I reread the laws and it says new rims can only be 1" wider than the biggest stock of that model, which is 7" I'm pretty sure. Pretty ridiculous seeing as there's no harm with wider rims. Also who checks that anyway, and would getting 8" wide ruin the flush as my LCAs will make it potentially +11 offset in the front?
