So What happened was... BACK TO THE STUDIO....
Had the worst interview in my life. Story goes (have fun I'm good at narratives)
I had an interview at a new company on Thursday and the day before on Wednesday. I randomly get a message from my current boss asking me to come in for an interview for promotion. Thursday Interview went great, and after speaking with my GF she thinks I should give the current company a chance and if possible take the promotion because it looks good that you've progressed up in a company(true of not I dunno) so I'm like ok I agree to go and do the interview for promotion. Both jobs have similar salary I thought why not.
On Friday I show up for the interview at my current company, Interviewer my boss and her boss (current acting general manager, the GM quit a 2 weeks before) are 30 mins late to the interview.
Boss starts with
"this is not an interview, this is me telling you what I want, if you were to get a promotion"
I just nod and said ok.... and she asks me a question and I answered it normally. She then decides that she wanted me to do something different. Tells me "Pretend like we've never met, and you never worked here, like an actual interview talk about your past experiences" I was ok with that, and she continues to ask me more questions as the acting GM keeps on giving her inputs etc. Mid way she stops and then goes "why aren't you giving examples and answering the question with the experiences that you have here working for me?" I'm baffled at this point, and then this turns into a "why don't you qualify for this promotion" as she basically stop interviewing and list things to why I wouldn't qualify and I'm not what she wanted (I'm the only one in the company with enough experience and merit at the moment to be promoted btw, I'm not a bad worker) In the end she started being unable to communicate clearly after I rebutted some of her statements, at this point the GM steps in and starts speaking instead. They both nitpicked at the smallest details, including 2 missing items that couldn't be completed because someone had stolen my printer. These missing items are very small and could be said to be not very important. After more exchanges and a hour of my time gone (I basically sat there getting grilled) She finally said "you're not getting the promotion"
The acting GM then looked into my records and then started to speak to my boss asking "He's missing a company development module for employee to learn their next position if they are to be promoted, does he not have that?" Then my boss looked confused and then answered "I didn't think it's very important for people at his level" I'm about to just yell at this person at this point, how the heck do you leave out important things like that, that means my entire level is missing something we're suppose to have if we are ever to move up in the company. She basically starts panicking in front of her boss and saying stuff like "their all important to me, I'll spend more time with him" The GM then told her not to do things she can't own up to and my boss, turned it around again and started nitpicking my resume. the format wasn't correct because the hiring system took out stuff from my resume, basic name and address etc. I had a hard copy with me and explained "this is done in a CV format because It's required for me to apply to Government job" the General Manager then nod"no problem makes perfect sense" and then my boss keeps going about it, till the GM just ended the meeting.
1.5 hours later I feel like shit. Not only did I not get a promotion, she didn't like that I was in a position for promotion, I've been bumped down field work, basically down a level so that I wouldn't be able to do anything.
I'm just waiting for hopefully for the other company to give me a offer letter.
Pretty shitty that I would even show up to work today IMHO. Thanks for Reading.
