Welp, there are several threads that have addressed a similar issue.

Tcoat, so I can't tick them off for you......and I'm too damn lazy to look for them.
As I recall, it might be the knob itself, the reverse mechanism that is lose or the shifter springs (I forget what they are called) are weak or the linkage has too much play in it or the transmission mounting bolts are not tight or the TOB is going bad or ...........
