it's the reason people post questions on forums like this, so they can justify what their own decisions so they can feel better about themselves. it's the reason that people take care of their children, so they feel like good parents. or the reason people go to church, or do well at their jobs.

it's not sad; it's human. and it's also the inspiration for people to do good, help others, or other amazing things.
I don't quite understand what you're saying. Is it that it is OK to feel more self esteem because your car has more horsepower?
