Staying on topic - I gave her a thorough washing and minor detailing the other day, and added some acoustic sound deadening material to the trunk to help cut down on the in-cabin volume of my exhaust; surprisingly, it does a fairly good job of cutting out much of the frequencies that account for drone, so I'm happy with that purchase. |
See that rubber cover at the lower front corner of the rear wheel arch. You can see daylight past it from inside the car. I sealed around it with silicone rubber to cut tire noise (which it did) but the main, (and unexpected) effect was to reduce exhaust noise, even though it's a long way from the exhaust. Leave a small hole at the lowest point for water drainage.
