In my honda it only takes 3 quarts at a time if you just drain and fill. And you have to drive it around a bit after each drain and fill to circulate the new fluid.

If you want him to use the rest you can but expect to pay again for labor. On Honda it was easy as an oil change to do myself, not sure on this car since I got an MT
