I read these stories and chuckle at how my experience was so much different.
I walked into the dealership just to look at the tC and kill time while my Lancer was being serviced next door. My car was sitting in the showroom with a bunch of stuff that I wanted already done to it. I had forgotten they even existed, had never seen one on the road and did not know a single detail about them. Looked it over and said "I'll take it" and made (what I think) was a great deal. Went home and franticly researched to make sure I actually would take it. Drove it home a few days later.
