Last I checked my clearance I can bottom out my Bilstein rear dampers with 17x9 245 tires and nothing else hits or rubs, I wouldn't worry about putting 255s on my car personally.
Maybe I missed something and he wants to go super low and maintain travel, then the suspension or tire might hit/rub.
