Right! Women are genetically programmed to seek out a partner who will stay with them, originally for the purpose of protecting their offspring. This is because they are biologically limited to perhaps twenty five offspring maximum during their reproductive years. Also good if the guy didn't actually kill the offspring.
Evolutionarily, since they are not restricted in the number of children that they can have, men are programmed to have as many sex partners as possible to increase their odds of reproducing and maximizing the number of their offspring. Think of Genghis Khan.
The conflict is obvious, but in the end the women can use sex to get what they want; men can't because what they want is, sex. So the women always win.
