I was reading up on it a bit, and it looks like the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission says Australians have to have their regular maintenance done by a mechanic who holds a license. It doesn't necessarily have to be the dealer's mechanic. It could be an independent mechanic. But doing your own maintenance without a license looks like it might actually result in denial of warranty claims.
So changing out your own cabin air filter might cause you warranty problems. How idiotic is that?
