You tell them as much (or as little) as you can. Each damper set is made to order. So spring rates and damper curves are customised to the customer's requirements. For a person such as myself I would be relying on their expertise to give me a damper. I will discuss regressive damper curves with them just for a better understanding of damper design. I am in no position to request a particular curve.
What I thought was a little controversial was being told they do not offer 4-way dampers. Even their dampers for the V8 Supercar series are only 2-way adjustable. (There are only 3 sanctioned damper manufactures for the series: Sachs, Ohlins And Supashock.) They also don't use remote canisters.
