Correct on everything except the last part
Make sure you buy "3M DOUBLE SIDED VHB TAPE" otherwise you'll need to buy those C brackets, simply put the tape all over the side of the module without the stickers.
ALSO:
There won't be an OEM module, it just slides underneath the head unit follow the tutorial in the first post as well as this video ignore the repinning and wiring electrical stuff he says he's installing a rearview camera at the same time the module is plug and play no cutting or splicing:

The module in question is used on all 2012-2015 Toyota vehicles for the most part, it was used with those head units to enable navigation and entune. That's the only difference between a car without navigation and one with navigation, it has that module, brackets and that antenna and harness
ALSO the purpose of buying the prius V head unit was specifically just to save you money, those head units are cheap as hell and are pretty common in several years of toyota vehicles, the problem is buying that module alone tends to cost a shit ton of money but the prius v head unit does not.
