I guess I just have to understand how the engine works as a whole to to know where to even start to tune and what else needs to be adjusted with it at the same time. Might be better for me to use someone's tune what was made in a similar climate as me to begin with. I'd done many logs and seen some knocks here and there but when I do another log the there is no knock at the same instances so it's like I don't know how to tune to improve things.

Before you start messing with a tune, changing it, etc read lots, it helps. You can even go into Romraider and look at the values, check out different tunes, google. It will take time to understand, but its very doable even for a novice imo.
If you start on wayno, and steve99 links in their sigs, wayno basically gives you a tune to copy for the 91 gas, their gas 98ron. Might need tweaking, but its a good starting point on all those tables atleast. They give really detailed and straight forward info I think anyway.
Oh the 91 gas its horrid so I have come to find out. Now if its not knocking over -1, and its not doing it all the time. If it is more then -1, that is something you need to look at right away, probably happening alot. For either, look at what instances it is, engine load/throttle position/commanded afr vs afr to see the cause of it. You can start from scratch with wayno's stuff and adjust things to how your car runs works etc. I think you will enjoy it alot as i have, its an amazing little tool so far I think.
