Exactly. A lip will lower the bumper ~1", the Protek skid plates ~3/8". I opted to go with the skid plates, pricey $150. shipped, but it's an after market custom made part.
The skid plates are made from HD polyethylene plastic. If you decide on a lip go with a polyurethane one.
