Practice, try different things. Yeah I still Bork it up every once in awhile, but I haven't changed anything on the pedals and I'm perfectly happy with the car. The cheapest fix is tightening the nut behind the wheel.
I have my steering wheel up as high as it can go. I tried dropping the seat lower but don't like the visibility. Current seat height has me barely seeing the odometer over he air bag and I'm far back enough to where clutch to floor is nearly at full extension on my left leg.
