Edmunds Year 2 - $20,946 30k mi
Edmunds Year 3 - $19,485 45k mi (Value after depreciation)

So Edmunds is saying after 3 years and 45k mi the car should be worth $19,485 if I did that correctly.

Unlikely.

(Here are some for sell)

Again, within the same brand of cars this one depreciates faster. So someone like me was thinking that because Subaru and Toyota have a track record of high resell value that this car would have Wonder Twin's Power Activated. It didn't.

LOL
I did not bother to do the math but the average price on the page YOU linked is pretty close to $19K. Your random picks have played against you although I am sure you are much better informed than Edmunds to decide values.

This is not a family sedan and the depreciation can not be compared to them. It is not out of line (in fact is better) than comparable types of cars by other makes. Did you not notice the depreciation on the STi that was listed? If worried about depreciation so much wait until you see the shit kicking you will take on a Porsche (it is $37,345 over 5 years on a 911 by the way) !!!!

If you can't afford to by a 911 now you can't afford to drive one after you save up your pennies.

Apparently you should have bought a Corolla in the first place since you think it can out run an FRS, is easy to drive in traffic and holds it's value better.
