Found a fix, not sure if anyone else here has tried it:
1. Unscrew shift knob
2. Inside the shift knob threads there is an Allen screw
3. Unscrew this, push the reverse lockout up, and a spring will pop out.
4. Fill the hole with lubricant, and cover the spring.
5. Replace all parts.
Just did this today, the grease will leak from the lockout when using it, but it seems to have helped. If anyone wants pictures let me know.
