I do want to go back, but honestly the whole week long trip to get there isn't for me. There's for sure some stuff to see along the way, but in my opinion Nova Scotia is the place to be. Besides, I'd have free places to stay there :p
I don't know if you're going all out for this trip, but have you thought of camping instead? I'm not a camping type of guy really, but last summer when we moved my girlfriend back we stopped at a campground in NoFunswick. We were able to get a tent and the campground for less than the cost of a hotel. Might be something to consider.

Talk about a coincidence. I just graduated from Acadia last year. I can see one of the buildings on campus out my window as I type this. That definitely would have been me that she saw haha. It's a pretty small university, I may know who she is (but unfortunately I can't tell from your avatar pic LOL)
The GF and I camped across Canada/back through the US 4 years ago, saved a ton of money. Expect ~$30/night for a camping site. I see 600/tank roughly as well FWIW.
