The confederation Bridge you pay leaving the island. Maybe bridge to PEI then ferry off island? When I went to PEI we just drove around and stopped at some random restaurant. If I took 2 steps and hopped over the railing I would have been in the ocean, that was pretty cool.
Whn you're driving through NoFunswick go check out the worlds longest covered bridge.
While in Halifax you should eat at Darrell's. Fantastic burgers. Also Bicycle Thief is very good, right beside the ocean too! Take some time to walk around the waterfront, and if you're a beer drinker check out the original Alexander Keiths brewery.
I love the east coast and I'm pretty sure I'll be going back at some point this summer with my girlfriend.
If you can free up some time I'd spend more time in NS. Peggys Cove, Lunenberg. Experience the tides in the Bay of Fundy, Hall's Harbour is wicked. Annapolis Valley is very nice. maybe go to a vineyard, Nova 7 is the best wine ever. Wolfville is a beautiful small university town. Cape split is nice.
Here's some photos from my first trip
Cape Split
Look Off which is on the way to Cape Split. Overlooking the ocean and Wolfville / the Annapolis Valley
Hall's Harbour
I should have taken the car down there lol
Nice view of the turbines as you're coming into NS
And this is what your car looks like about 1/3 of the way back to Ontario in one of the worst storms of the year. I went through crazy snow storm, hail, rain, sun, you name it I drove through it that day. My drive to Wolfville took 13 hours. Drive back took 17 hours...
PRO TIP: Speed Limit is 110 through NoFunswick, but the cops are a little more strict on speedin (so I'm told). The cops are also pretty much all RCMP.
