You ask unanswerable questions. Nobody on this forum works at Subaru at a high enough position on the totem pole to give you an answer as to why they make these choices. Subaru's notoriously bad at translating concept-to-product, and likely this is a function of their corporate organization (which is likely not dissimilar from any other automaker).
Likely, the design will go from the style guys to get reviewed by the materials engineers and aerodynamics guys, and then it'll get reviewed by the manufacturing engineers, and then it'll get reviewed by the 'brand' guys, and then it'll get reviewed by focus groups, etc...
At each stop of the way, something will get tweaked until it only sort of looks like the original concept.
