Yeah very common mistake from FWD drivers being used to that safety net of lifting. With a Torsen diff you can still lift fairly safety due to the torque xfer but if the cars already going/gone it takes away the forward momentum and you become a passenger.
I reckon you should get another one (BRZ?) and go out and get it sideways again man. Just make sure you have enough space around you (track/skid pad is best) so this doesn't happen again. You're young, insurance will take the easy path and write it off, reset button ftw!
