Years ago, I managed to inadvertently do a 180* in a 2000 Celica.
This was shortly after stiffening up the suspension -- a lot of the understeer I had grown accustomed to was dialed out, and suddenly I was facing the wrong way on a narrow road, just after entering a sharp corner at what I honestly thought was a reasonable and safe speed (whoops).
Luckily, no impact -- just a few terrified onlookers and a slightly rattled me.
Lesson learned -- get to know your car, and take it reaaaaal easy until you do. If you change the suspension set up, get to know it once again.
Anyway, it happens. I'm sorry that you didn't get as lucky as I did -- but at least you are okay, and insurance will take care of the rest.
In the meantime, look into signing up for an autocross entry level instruction event so when your baby comes back, you can get better acquainted.
