Ordering Car Parts Circa 1976:

1) Talk to people (real people, in person) to find what works for them.
2) Buy magazines/catalogs with reviews/info on the part you are interested in. May need to buy several to get the whole list.
3) Determine part you want.
4) Call or send letter to supplier (or go into shop if lucky enough to have one in your city).
5) Get price and guesstimated delivery date.
6) Mail cheque or money order.
7) Wait two weeks for cheque to clear bank.
8) Wait 2 to 6 weeks for part to arrive. (Tracking? LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL)
9) Discover that you need an adapter kit. (after taking car apart of course)
10) Start over at step 3 for kit.

This could take months even if you were lucky enough to have a Speed Shop in your city.
