I always put new tires on the rear. If I get a flat in the rear, I move my front tires to the back and put the spare up front. It takes longer, but if you understand what happens to the rear tires around a corner, you'll want to have good tires there to come around a corner safely. Since your front can be corrected using the steering wheel, always keep your worn tires or spare up front.
