I use carbotech 1521 for the street with ATE dot 4. I think the brakes feel great, much better than OE. I think this is mostly about good fluid, no air in the lines, and a relatively high friction pad. The high friction pad means less pedal pressure, and therefore less flex in the entire system: lines, fluid, caliper, seals.

I run stock lines and calipers, no brake shims.
