Go 225/40/18 if you want. Ps, if you are just putting 225 in the rear go for it. Quite a bit ppl on Asian forum run that despite what ppl will tell you here.

What are you smoking???
And what shitty tires are you running?
225/40/18? Your asking the dude to buy new wheels? Dafuck.??

What it really comes down to is tire choice. Cheap all seasons will handle like crap regardless of width. For "better" handling always go for performance summer tires. Simple as that.

The reason why everyone says to keep the same size all around is for tire rotation. This is helpful when you have directional tires. As most all performance tires are directional.

But you could have 225 in the rear. Nothing wrong with that. You'll just end up buying a new pair once one side is worn down or pay a few $$ to get your tires flipped to the other wheel at a tire shop. That's if you have directional tires.

I been down that road many times. My MR2 has staggered wheels so I speak from experience.
