I understand where you're coming from. I just think that taking design cues from higher (much higher) end sports cars is ok, as long as its not an entire straight rip off of said cars. They succeeded there with the front end for the kouki in doing just that: taking cues without making the entire car an almost Lamborghini.
The SW20 came awfully close, however, to looking like a small Ferrari replica. But in its day it was -praised- for that by the automotive community; you could get almost super car looks for a mid-range price.

And see I wouldn't have bought that either. I don't want super car looks for a mid range price. I want nice looks in a mid priced range where the car is not pretending to be a supercar. It isn't a supercar and making it look like one just does not appeal
to me. Other opinions will vary.
