I came to the BRZ from a couple of WRXs ('08 and '11). I love the handling and steering feel of the BRZ but I really miss the acceleration of the '11 WRX. The BRZ would have to have 40% more torque to have the same loaded torque to weight ratio as the WRX. I think 40% more torque would be just right. I don't really need more power around town but I seriously miss the torque when trying to pass people on 2-lane country roads.

My lease is up in August and if I were going to buy out the BRZ I'd definitely go FI, probably Phantom ESC, but then I'd also want to do suspension and brakes... and audio... and...
