It is obvious that they are trying to carry on the idea as you have already pointed out so, with that being the case.

AE86 Levin

AE92 Levin

AE101 Levin

AE111 Levin

And now they brought it back to rear wheel drive. Call it it an AE121 Levin or something. Don't call it an 86, that's a different car and it's cheesy to need to reminisce with the revival of that number.

No engine? What? They already had a fantastic engine fully developed and ready to port into the new chassis. It was underpowered in the Altezza, but it would have shined in the new Levin.

And it's proven to fit.

Unfortunately, Toyota forgot how to build a lightweight RWD sports car. They were so desperate they had to ask Subaru to do it and they haven't built something that just spun the rear wheels in a long freakin time. That must have drove them up the wall just leaving the front tires to steer and brake and not pull the car along. They did a great job, though. Whoever did which part, well done. Whoever thought the sound tube thing up, though, the FC3S RX7 cold solder guy thinks you suck. Yeah, it's that weak.

Igloos, no, that's Alaska. Hockey and maple syrup shots, eh?

You picked a very special first car. Don't ever let it go and stay on top of that rust. I didn't have one of those until years later and mine was in terrible condition and I never got to enjoy it like I know they can be enjoyed. I spent my 20s beating on R30 Skylines and my 30s on R32s. I always sort of despised the 86s because it seemed like you always won in one of those. If you lost to a fast car, of course, that's expected, no foul, but if you got over on a faster car you made them look foolish.

I only ever beat 86s at their game twice. Once in my wife's AE101 with the silvertop 20 valve and another time in my S13 Q CA18DE. That car was awesome. I gutted it it down to the front seats and a dashboard and there was no AC or power steering. It was, essentially a bigger hachiroku and that one I ran was upset. He knew it was a Q, he had to, it sounded like his car with just a hair more roar and no turbo noises and it must have pissed him off that I was spankin his ass. Then my buddy's shoes started to melt. HKS header, no wrap and an uncarpeted steel floor.
I do see your point and I agree with you, but all those Levins but 1 are FWD. Lol

My AE86 had a 20v AE111 blacktop swap xD Awesome little thing but around the 5th year mark; I also took in a 2000 MR-S... Then I decided to sell both for the BRZ haha.

I do miss them, but I sold them for the reason the AE86 was just a money pit, more money was dumped into it for maintenance than anything else. The MR-S was just waaayyy too small with no trunk lol.
