Looking at your post history it seems you just recently got the car. So yes, that smell is normal for a new twin. The clutch may stink for a few thousand miles, especially when you're in a situation that requires a lot of slip. But once it's fully worn in it will stop.
This car has a lot of weird quirks that are actually normal. If you want to get really, really drunk, read through this forum with a bottle of your favorite liquor in front of you and take a shot every time you see a reference to something being normal.
