Update: I can now successfully rev match downshift with minimal issues. Turns out, what I was doing to down shift was pretty much held the accelerator where it would need to be and then dump the clutch. Which is fine if I'm planning on speeding up but doesn't help in slowing down.
However, how do you effectively roll from gear 6 to gear 1 to neutral as you near a stop? I haven't found an effective way to do this. I'm assuming this is where heel-toe comes into play. At which case, is it toe to throttle or heel to throttle?
