I actually had the same exact experience about six years ago. Thought I was going to be clever after some rain in San Diego. Issue is, it doesn't rain in San Diego enough to keep the roads clean, so where water pools a bit, so does a metric shitload of oil. Being a desert rat, I knew better, but I did it anyway. Lesson learned the hard way.
It was a pretty kick ass slide while it lasted though.
