HOWEVER.
We decided since this design isn't worth pursuing, we're going to be making a low-profile formed steel mount designed to work with the Recaro double-locking sliders.
Here's a peek at the design. These parts have already been ordered, and should show up by the end of the month. They'll be 1/8" cold-rolled steel with black zinc plating. They'll be sold with or without the Recaro sliders included, which bolt up to pressed-in fasteners to make them super easy to install.
We feel this will be useful to many more people than a billet fixed mount.
