Seems like a lot of dealers just want to do a big service bill and have Subaru/Toyota foot the bill.
My car started smelling funny after a drive home in heavy rain. Smelled like brakes or clutch or burnt oil. We couldnt figure it out and it only was there once at a stoplight but not home. Only other symptom was a window that wasnt defogging well but i wasnt really paying attention and only realized it wasn't defogging well in retrospect. Then I noticed the next day the clitch pedal was squeaky and it felt grainy. It was sqeaky only with the car running. With the car off it felt like butter and no squeaking. I might have even had spongy brake feel but I cant rule out the bad weather on most these symptoms. Especially because I have new rims/tires so things could be just different. Besides the ac n brakes the clutch sqeak was real.
Today it seemed to fix itself. Same symptoms but then after a stop I got back in and everything was fine. So who knows? Hopefully it doesnt return.
