A lot of guys buy the FRS/BRZ because its a "cool car" and because of the stigma (I guess would be the word?) that goes along with it only to find out they dont like the car as much as they thought they would. I have driven a couple of them.
I love my Z06 but the problem is three fold 1) I rarely drive it, having owned it 3 years I've put just 1,400 miles on it. 2) Approaching the performance envelope on the street is basically impossible unless you have a death wish. 3) I planned to track the car some and consumables get expensive quickly.
The BRZ/FRS drive great, have fantastic feedback, you can ring out the motor on the street and not have to worry about hitting triple digit speeds in the matter of a few seconds. Consumables on the track are cheap, my wife will enjoy driving it (vette scares her), I can put a few k miles a year on it and not worry about value, rain, blah blah blah...
Am also considering a Cayman but fear I'd run into the same excuses to not drive it as I have with the Vette.
