Actually, TRD wheels in Japan are 18" too.
Here's the Japanese TRD list, in English. However, just because TRD makes them doesn't mean they're the best wheel performance-wise; Japanese people are no more immune to the bling-factor than we are.
I went with 17's when ordering mine because I did not want to alter the handling characteristics of this car too much, and all of my wheel choices were going to look smaller anyway even in an 18". It's because of the spokes on the stock wheel going all the way to the lip; so unless you get a similar design in an 18" or 19", the wheel's going to look a bit smaller by comparison. At the end of the day, I'd rather have the lightest wheel rather than the prettiest.
