I haven't driven a WRX ever or really all that many cars besides my BRZ, my primary point of comparison is my 2013 Camaro that was totaled a few years back before I bought the BRZ.
The BRZ handles far better than the Camaro needless to say, and I didn't really miss the power all that much (I had a V6 Camaro, shame on me). You can wring out the BRZ much more on public roads and still be safe, so I'd argue that for daily driving it's quite a bit more fun.
On the practicality standpoint, despite being a smaller car, the BRZ wins big-time because you can fold the rear seats down. The rear seats are useless for transporting people, but i you don't need to bring a lot of people around, the trunk with seats down will hold quite a lot of stuff, more than the WRX's trunk alone could by a long shot. The BRZ is my only car and it's been more than practical enough for my needs.
I'd advise you test drive the BRZ and Miata and pick whichever one you prefer.
