Yep, there are two schools of thought about when to change the MT and differential oils.
The
new school (made up of the
old codgers like @
Tcoat and myself) who believe that the beginning oils are good for a while. Then there is the
old school (made up of usually
new folks) that feel the oils should be changed after a few thousand miles.
Now, go figure that
old -
new bit .......
Now, I understand that ol @
Tcoat has had the OEM transmission oil in place for 40,000 + miles. Maybe when he goes to drain it out, it won't come out and he will have to flush it out with hot kerosene OR remove the transmission, crack the case and scrape it out with a putty knife ......
