Wha... Strangelove came out in '64, it probably influenced the culture of your time more than satirized it, it'd be more accurate to say that you'd have to have been aware in the '50s for it to hit home (red scare) more than the malaise of the later Iron Curtain Vietnam era Cold War.

In any case, like 75% of the movie is still relevant to the youngin's as the US has been in constant conflict for the past 15 years, the concept of two countries with fingers on the big red button isn't a difficult concept to grasp and a five minute history lesson will make most of the Commie fear mongering jokes land.
