By developing this car as a team, Toyota and Subaru technically built two cars for the price of one. They need to market them as two different cars.

If Toyota/Subaru differentiate their own FT-86's enough, this can be a huge sales WIN. I assume Toyota's RWD 86 will be for the driving purist, a person who would die to have a $20k Lotus.

Now the Subaru will have to target the more mature audience (which they already do) to avoid stealing Toyota's thunder. Their 86 should be more comfortable, safer, and a better daily driver no matter where you live (AWD!)

If what I'm hearing is correct, and the only difference between the two is going to be a few cosmetic tweaks...man, that's one stupid ass decision.
UNDERLINED: umm youve just contradicted yourself there buddy your Ex. shows that even if the Subie version comes in RWD sales would be good because they want the Subaru badge??

BOLD: So let me get this right. What your saying is Subarus NEW smallest car should be a Legacy, yes?
