If Toyota/Subaru differentiate their own FT-86's enough, this can be a huge sales WIN. I assume Toyota's RWD 86 will be for the driving purist, a person who would die to have a $20k Lotus.
Now the Subaru will have to target the more mature audience (which they already do) to avoid stealing Toyota's thunder. Their 86 should be more comfortable, safer, and a better daily driver no matter where you live (AWD!)
If what I'm hearing is correct, and the only difference between the two is going to be a few cosmetic tweaks...man, that's one stupid ass decision.
