It is no different than a sports car v8 or a fwd v6 where the back 3 cylinders are up gainst the firewall. I've seen many of a maxima where the intake manifold needed to be removed to do the plugs.
Any Subaru mechanic worth their salt can do them. We charge about 150 with oem platinum plugs for the change on the Wrx/sti as a point of reference.
