I don't have the Subaru parts, but I'm sure that there is a similar change.

So, they tried to update a bit more the oil system. Don't underestimate these engines. Apart from customer feedback, they constantly gather information from manufacturer races (e.g., in Japan and Germany) and whenever possible they're trying to make improvements.

Finally, for the 2014 changes yes there were comments one year before that the valve changes were actually made earlier. Not only by you, but also from other people. I think the most important here is to record knowledge and share our thoughts. Then people are free to decide what is important and what is not.

Thanks for the update on the oil pan and cam timing oil controller. Seriously the cam timing oil controller might be the fix some guys are needing when they swap 2015 motors in their older cars and getting P0011 code. That's good stuff.
