Tcoat when you speak of a "parking brake on an auto" are you talking about an "automobile" or an "automobile with an automatic transmission" ... ??
If you are talking about an automobile with an automatic transmission, when you get out of your flatlands and get up into the mountains, it's possible to be on a steep enough slope that when you put the transmission in "park" and let off the brake, the pressure will not allow the transmission "pawl" to let go, so as you can move it out of "park".
Then you might have to find 6 men or a tow vehicle to get ya going.
And, NO, I don't wanna talk about how I know that ......
