The last generation Silvia was 2800lbs or so but it was an iron-block, pre-2012 safety regs in addition to being sold outside the US, and turbocharged. The RX-8 was 2900lbs in 04 and is closer to 3100lbs now but it's a full 4 seater and larger than the 86.
Ugh. But even with us knowing that the 86 is going to be a car smaller than most, the forecast doesn't look very bright (especially with increasing restrictions on safety equipment). I was hoping for the car to be around 2.5K lbs. I know nothing is certain yet until specs are released, but deep down I feel like it's just wishful thinking. One can still hope though, right?
