Make sure the new tire is the exact same size and brand/model as the other tire back there. Even if it is the same tire, there could be enough of a difference in overall diameter between the worn tire and the new tire that it is upsetting things when you let off the gas. Like think of a chair with one short leg...it will "teeter" on 2 of the longer diagonally-opposed legs. Your car is effectively poorly corner-balanced.

Speaking of, do you have coilovers or stiff springs?
